BOSTON, MA
–Shawmut Design and Construction, an $860 million national construction management firm, recently completed a major renovation to Boston’s TD Garden including multiple concourses, new concession offerings, and a comprehensive overhaul of Legends. After a long summer of demolition and construction within a fully operational arena, the Shawmut team completed phase 1 of the two-year renovation project in time for the Bruins home opener.

“Our team completed a monumental amount of work in just three short months, while the arena remained open for business with countless concerts and events happening all around us,” said Randy Shelly, vice president of Shawmut. “We are excited that fans will get to enjoy all these new amenities while cheering for the Celtics and Bruins this season.”

The expansive concourse renovations included eight new concession stands–each requiring electrical and mechanical updates to allow for more elaborate made-to-order food options. Shawmut also completed Legends, a private high-end restaurant for season ticket holders. The renovations span over 65,000 square feet of reconfigured common space that will enhance the fan experience featuring two new “Market Places” and craft beer bars. The team is in the final stages of completing the Celtics Sun Life Courtside Club which will be open for the Celtics home opener. Shawmut will revamp the seventh floor concourse over the summer of 2015.

The latest renovation of TD Garden is just one of many projects Shawmut has completed at the arena over the last 15 years. Additionally, Shawmut recently completed the installation for the infrastructure of Major League Baseball’s new instant replay system at all 30 ballparks nationwide, as well as a $15 million renovation of Santa Anita Park in Arcadia, Calif. Shawmut has also completed projects at MetLife Stadium, Alumni Stadium at Boston College, Yankee Stadium, Oriole Park at Camden Yards and Fenway Park
