WASHINGTON, D.C.—Shawmut Design and Construction recently completed Del Frisco’s 11th Double Eagle Steak House, located in CityCenterDC. The three-floor, 400-seat steak house opened September 19.
Shawmut’s construction of the 18,000 square-foot steak house included a wine cellar, private board room, two bars, courtyard patio, and in-wall, glass paneled wine storage. The team worked with designers The Johnson Studio to differentiate this location from its other 10 nationwide, adding D.C.-specific customizations such as a marble kitchen and bars reminiscent of D.C.’s iconic buildings and monuments. Shawmut also installed floor-to-ceiling windows and custom millwork to give the space a modern feel.
“We are thrilled to build momentum in the D.C. market alongside the Del Frisco’s team,” said Randy Shelly, vice president of Shawmut. “Our work with the steak house segued into a partnership with CityCenterDC’s developer, Hines Construction, and has allowed us to work with other great brands breaking into the neighborhood.”
Shawmut, who was recently named a Direct Contractor for CityCenterDC, is working on four other projects in CityCenterDC. Longchamp enlisted Shawmut to build its first branded boutique in the D.C. area, which will be the sixth location the team has worked on. Loro Piano and Zadig & Voltaire are breaking into the region at CityCenterDC, and are currently under Shawmut’s construction. Hugo Boss recently opened and is the 10th store the Shawmut team has built.
“We are always looking to be more efficient, and we are very excited for exactly that, as Shawmut and Hines work together,” said Brian Eklund, construction manager at Hines Construction. “Shawmut has been a great partner thus far, especially on Del Frisco's, and we look forward to continuing to work with them.”
