Shawmut hosted its 11th annual Safety Week with a combination of virtual events and on-site, socially-distant trainings, reimagining this year’s event to ensure continued learning through new formats. With a focus on the safety of the entire person—both within and outside of work—the trainings and focus for the week included total worker health, emergency preparedness, and isolation and loneliness.
Every jobsite and all 10 offices participated in Safety Week, demonstrating the firm’s continued commitment to safety and building on its world-class safety program. Shawmut team members in the field accessed the daily Toolbox Talks for their jobsite through a custom QR code that opened the training for the day. Employees throughout the firm attended virtual events hosted by experts and joined in companywide virtual trivia.
“This year’s Safety Week not only focused on educating and training, but also celebrating and thanking our people,” said Shaun Carvalho, Chief Safety Officer. “We’ve been able to mitigate the spread of Covid-19 and prevent outbreaks on our sites because of the diligence of our project teams and their commitment to safety and reinforcing our enhanced protocols.”
