BOSTON, MA – Shawmut is pleased to announce that Marianne Monte has joined the firm as chief people officer. Monte is a strategic human resources executive with a proven track record in effective executive coaching, talent management, and business partner leadership. Monte will partner with and support senior executives in Shawmut’s eight offices nationwide.
Monte’s area of expertise focuses on leadership development, strategies for talent retention, motivation, and reward. In an effort to continue building a talent-driven organization focused on providing the gold standard of client service, CEO Les Hiscoe created Monte’s new C-level human resource position—a first for the company. Monte’s recent appointment coincides with firm’s exponential growth, including recently surpassing $1 billion in revenue.
“As a 100% employee-owned company, Shawmut is fully vested in providing exceptional client service. To do that, we need the very best people in the industry. Marianne has an impressive track record of identifying, attracting, and obtaining top talent,” said Shawmut chief executive officer Les Hiscoe. Prior to joining Shawmut, Monte was the vice president of human resources at the Hanover Insurance Group and a senior vice president at BankRI.
