New hires to strengthen expanding hospitality division in New York and Los Angeles
Shawmut today announced the addition of two business development directors to the hospitality division in the New York and Los Angeles markets. Christopher Hennessy, director of business development in Los Angeles, and Lawrence Campana, director of business development in New York, will continue to build on the division’s momentum.
“At Shawmut, we value strong leaders with exceptional expertise in their respective industries,” said Randy Shelly, vice president of Shawmut Design and Construction. “Chris and Larry have extensive backgrounds in hospitality operations management, which is critical to truly understanding what our clients need from a partner.”
In his new role, Campana will use his existing relationships within the industry to grow the hospitality division and solidify Shawmut’s position as the top fine dining builder in New York. Campana comes to Shawmut with 15 years of experience and recently served as vice president of business development at Invest Hospitality. Previously, he served as general manager for multiple restaurants at BR Guest Hospitality and was a general manager in the food and beverage division at MGM Grand Las Vegas. He received his MBA from Boston College, and B.S. from Miami University
As director of business development in California, Hennessy will work closely with Shawmut’s executive team to grow the firm’s impressive fine dining portfolio by forging relationships with new clients. Hennessy most recently served as director of key account sales for Regal Wine Company, the largest wine distributor in California. Previously, he served as general manager of The David Myers Restaurant Group’s Comme Ça in West Hollywood and Pizzeria Ortica in Costa Mesa. He has a B.A. from Western Connecticut State University and is a certified Sommelier.
Shawmut’s hospitality client roster includes Nobu, Bouchon, Craft, Le Bernardin, Chevalier, and Danny Meyer’s Maialino. The division has worked with the most decorated chefs in the industry, including 18 chefs with Michelin stars, such as Thomas Keller, Masa Takayama, Tom Colicchio, and Shea Gallante. The team is currently working on Nobu in Newport Beach and Jose Garces’ Amada in New York.
The addition of these directors of business development will help the firm continue to build upon recent exponential growth. The division is projecting $303 million in revenue for 2015, a 67 percent increase over the past three years.
