BEVERLY HILLS, CA – Shawmut completed Gratus' new personal shopping boutique at 427 N. Canon Drive in Beverly Hills. The updated design offers guests an intimate VIP shopping experience infused with style and comfort.
Shawmut crafted an elegant yet cozy shopping floor, featuring ebony-stained hardwood flooring, and custom draperies, millwork, and cabinetry. Specialty sofas and chairs sit at the center of the shopping floor to accentuate the space’s residential feel, allowing clients to socialize and relax. The team also installed an LED lighting system throughout the entire store. In addition to the general shopping area, the team built a VIP salon towards the back of the store to provide a space for guests desiring a more secluded shopping experience.
“It was an exciting experience to work on such an innovative retail concept,” and said Vincent Spataro, director of Shawmut’s Southern California division. “Our team was honored to help Gratus up-level their shopping experience in time for the new year.”
This project brought along with it a unique set of challenges. To ensure that every detail of the store would be of value to the personal shopping experience, the team had to create a strategic construction plan. The store’s location in the heart of Beverly Hills required the team to work around the city’s strict measures regarding deliveries, parking, traffic, and city inspections. In addition, the team paid meticulous attention to logistics to accommodate the store’s layout across a public courtyard and existing building conditions.
Despite these details, the team successfully completed the store right on schedule. The project is the latest for the firm’s retail division, with recent work in Los Angeles including Rodeo Drive flagships for Louis Vuitton and Tom Ford.
