DETRIOT, MI – It’s hard to believe that we’re almost halfway through the baseball season, but time flies when you’re having fun—especially when you’re at Comerica Park, home to the Detroit Tigers.
Since Opening Day, fans have been welcomed back to Comerica Park with over 20 new food concession counters, a new concourse bar, a renovated retail store, and new pavilion space—all built by Shawmut, in partnership with ODM Architecture and Delaware North.
The new fixed-food concession counters line the concourse and have video menu boards. Shawmut’s work for the 52-foot concourse bar included the installation of steel posts for the canopy and roof deck, brick veneer along the back wall, wood cladding, black steel liquor shelves, a copper countertop, illuminated signage, and a state-of-the-art outdoor support kitchen.
The Shawmut-built pavilion, with its open-seating area, is the perfect spot for fans to take in the game while enjoying Comerica’s extensive food offerings and a cold beverage (or two).
Shawmut completed the upgrades throughout Comerica Park in just 52 days—coordinating construction activity with operations volume and seasonal activities to complete the work in time for Opening Day.
