Converse Inc., the century-old maker of the famed Chuck Taylor All Star shoe, this Friday will open its world headquarters on Boston’s Lovejoy Wharf.
The 10-story, 214,000-square-foot headquarters at 160 Washington St. will house a flagship retail store — Converse’s sixth retail store in the U.S. and its second in Boston — where customers can create one-of-a-kind Chuck Taylor sneakers for $150 and up. The headquarters will also feature a “Converse Rubber Tracks” recording studio and “a grand Chuck Taylor sneaker chandelier installation” at the entrance to Lovejoy Wharf, Converse said.
